This doesn't mean you can't promote outside your subreddit. You absolutely can and should. But here's the reality: self-promotion in other subreddits usually ends up with post removals, shadowbans, or your account getting flagged. Reddit's algorithm doesn't encourage self-promotion. It rewards authentic, engaging discussions. Having your own subreddit gives you a home base where you can promote strategically while building genuine value elsewhere.
2. It becomes a long-term asset. Once established, your subreddit ranks in Google, appears in home feeds, and becomes a lead generation machine that works while you sleep if you do it right.
